What are the elements of a successful project?

Strategic fit. The Client has a clear strategy and a long-term development plan, and the project is in line with both.

Project targets. Based on the strategy/plan, a few clear, measurable targets are chosen to describe the desired result.

Concept. Trials, reference visits and experts are used to develop a technical concept that meets the project´s targets.

Team. An experienced multidisciplinary core team is assembled to deliver efficient results.

Pre-/basic engineering study. Project targets, concept, costs and profitability are studied in a pre-engineering study prior to the go-ahead decision.

Procurement. Organised as a strong and disciplined procurement effort, ending in timely, clear and complete contracts.

Detail engineering. The concept is turned into flow sheets, layouts and process descriptions. These are discussed, accepted and frozen. These documents are the starting point for detail piping, electrical, instrument and automation engineering. Minimum changes or additions required.

Installation supervision, checking, commissioning, testing and start-up. Enough time, people and resources are reserved to ensure correct installation, function and start-up
