Stora Enso's Imatra pulp line 3 for 600 000 tons per year of bleached hardwood kraft pulp was started up in 2001.
The investment included a new woodhandling plant, a new fibre line for hardwood, and upgrading of the existing fibre line 2 for softwood kraft pulp.
It also included a new drying machine with a capacity 1000 air dried tons per year and upgrading of the existing recovery line comprising:
- new tall oil plant
- new black liquor storage tank
- new HVLC gas collection and handling system
- upgrade of the existing secondary heat system
- new pipe bridges.
